Monday's baby is 13 month old Jarred. He is an Oklahoma State Cowboys fan and can't wait for football season!

Message from a mom

I have three sons and I don’t have a lot of stuff to give them, but when you come here you get diapers, food, formula and clothing. I have a hard time because a lot of times I do not have enough money to get what I need for my kids. You tell Infant Crisis Services what you need and they try to help you the best way they can.

Monday's toddler- Micah

Monday's toddler is named Micah and he is 2 years old. Micah has 3 other sisters, and he was actually very shy. Once he discovered all the fun toys, he finally started to come out of his shell and smile. He has a twin sister named Maliah who was a little too busy playing and didn't quite have time for the camera. Micah and Miliah's mom said that Miliah was the reason the twins were born so early, and she has been the same since birth. She is always antsy and on the go, and makes sure Micah tags along.

A little rain won't stop this cutie from sporting her sunglasses. The sun is always shinning when you're around Petyon! But sometimes she wants to make sure you look her in the eyes! Hope you have a bright, sunny, and safe weekend!

My Personal Connection-Beth

My connection with Infant Crisis Services begins as college student looking for a job. I met and instantly fell in love with the babies and staff at Infant Crisis Services. The mission was powerful, filled and I could see there was a very real need. I knew I had found my calling. I was hired as the Volunteer Coordinator, not realizing the impact this job would have on my life. Working with the volunteers at Infant Crisis Services I learned quickly what compassion and generosity at its core looked like.

A more personal connection with our volunteers began when I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer last year; the volunteers at Infant Crisis Services were and still are such a wonderful support system for me and my family. I believe they were essential to my recovery and victory over cancer. I can tell you first hand… our babies who get services are getting the worlds best. As the Director of Volunteers, it is my honor and privilege to serve next to our volunteers feeding babies.

Our volunteers embody our mission, “Infant Crisis Services provides life sustaining formula, food and diapers to babies in times of crisis…Because no baby should go hungry”

Monday's baby is named Stormy and she is 3 months old.

My Personal Connection- Alex Simon

I began my summer internship with Infant Crisis Services about 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it. I am learning a lot and have already had such a great experience. It is amazing how many diapers, food, formula and clothes are needed and given to families day to day. I love seeing the ways our community helps others and a lot of what is done wouldn’t be possible without the help of our community. I also love seeing families get what they need, right away. They can walk in, get services and leave with not only a cart full of items but hopefully a happier person, knowing their baby will not go to bed hungry that night.

There is a lot to be done behind the scenes at Infant Crisis Services to make sure that babies are fed and families can be served. I have been interning in the Public Relations department, where I have done a wide variety of things and I am enjoying everything I have learned so far. Not only has everyone been very welcoming, but great teachers. I am privileged to be learning from great people, while doing a great thing and helping out children in need. Seeing individuals receive help motivates me to want to stay involved with Infant Crisis Services and help Oklahoma’s hungry children.

Everyone at Infant Crisis Services loves being here and what they do, which makes it a great and enjoyable place to be. I also have especially enjoyed having the privilege to be able to hold babies and play with the toddlers almost any time of the day. I don’t view everyday as work, but as something that is fun, enjoyable, and a small way that we can help others. I love the positive and friendly atmosphere and I am so happy that I have been able to have such a great experience being an intern at Infant Crisis Services!

Instead of having one baby for Monday, we have four! Monday's babies are quadruplets named Abigaill, Rachel, Kaylee, and Conner. Looks like Conner is going to have his hands full!

Hungry Awareness Month

One in five babies in Oklahoma will go to bed hungry tonight.

Remember not to waste food.

Learn the difference between physical hunger, emotional hunger and habitual hunger. We must eat when we are experiencing physical hunger, but when you are tempted to eat because of emotions or habit, try to find another activity to pass the time.

Raise awareness about the problem of poverty and starvation. It is happening in our own backyards and it's not going away anytime soon.

Donate to an organization that helps provide food security like Infant Crisis Services.

Monday's baby, Abrianna

This is Monday's baby, Abrianna. At first she would not smile for the camera, but once we gave her jewlery she was nothing but smiles.

Infant Crisis Services has an automatic feel of comfort when you walk in the door. There is playful, bright artwork all around the building. Every corner you turn has something new. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.
