Today's wonderful donors

Girl Scouts Troop 694 presented Infant Crisis Services with a check for the babies. They also brought along with them Girl Scouts cookies for the staff and volunteers...yummy!

Redlands Community College encouraged students to bring cans of formula and food to the donation boxes around campus. Thank you Redlands! Go Cougars!

Monday's baby, Alex

Alex came into Infant Crisis Services on Friday, March 19, 2010. At the time he was only three days old. He was born premature and his clothes hung off his tiny body, but Infant Crisis Services gave his preemie clothing so he was not wrapped up in his in all that fabric. Alex received the proper formula to help his little body grow.

Beautiful Baby Boy Alex

This is Alex. He is one month and one day old. Alex was born with Hydrocephalus. This occurs when excess fluid builds up in your brain, most often because of an obstruction preventing proper fluid drainage. Hydrocephalus occurs in approximately one out of 500 births. At two days old, Alex underwent surgery to release the fluid surrounding his brain and spinal cord.

Today, he has a heart monitor because if his chin touches his chest it will might cut off his air because his head is still so heavy. Other than that he is a healthy little boy! His mom and aunt tell me there the is a slight possibility he will have another surgery at the age of three, but now that thought it far from their minds. Alex is just one of the beautiful babies who fill our heart with love the moment they come through our doors of Infant Crisis Services.

Burgers for Babies

Infant Crisis Services is very lucky to have such great support!

The Burger Joint in Oklahoma City has chosen Infant Crisis Services for their “Pay It Forward Tuesday.” What that means is this Tuesday, March 9, eat at the Burger Joint and 10% of all proceeds go to Infant Crisis Services! The Burger Joint is located at 5929 N. May in the Best Buy parking lot.

And after eating here if you are still craving burgers on Thursday, March 11, eat at any Johnnies in the Oklahoma City metro for Kappa Delta’s Project Shamrock. Mention Project Shamrock when you order at either lunch or dinner. Kappa Delta will then give 90% of what Project Shamrock brings in to Infant Crisis Services!

So eat up this week at either of these restaurants and help Infant Crisis Services feed babies!

Babies of the day!

I just had to put these two babies on the blog! I had both of them in fits of laughter. This is Ivan and his mom styled his hair this way. He is going to be a ladies man!

Aliyah was admiring my green St. Patrick's day ring and every time I would bring it close to her she would laugh and laugh. She is all girl in her pink outfit. She even had on a matching pink bracelet.

Volunteer St. Patty's Day Party

We cherish our wonderful volunteers so much! They all have hearts of gold and are passionate about the mission of Infant Crisis Services "No baby should go hungry." Once a month, the staff and volunteers get together for a volunteer luncheon. The volunteer coordinator always tries to have a theme. This month it dress in green for St. Patty's Day and Italian food.

Best St. Patty's Day outfits!
Happy birthday Ana!

Hi my name is Aasia

My name is Aasia and I was born on January 27, 2010. I love to eat every two hours! My mom is surprised I am not 10 pounds by how much I eat! My mom is getting sleepy because I get up so much in the middle of the night to eat, but she knows it is crucial I get the proper nutrition in the early months so my brain will fully develop. Thanks to Infant Crisis Services I can get the formula my body needs to be healthy!
